renovating pond

Bodies of water in India are no stranger to human negligence and pollution, which heavily contributes to the growing water crisis in the country. Thaali Kulam, located in South Chennai, India, is a non-system pond which lacks proper bunds and required a complete ecological restoration to continue to survive. EFL partnered with the Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) to restore inlets for maximum efficiency and flood resistance, as well as restore the water-holding capacity of the pond.
