 Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Own the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of EDI parsers and generators across EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML, JSON, and flat-file formats.
  • Lead production troubleshooting by tracing failed messages across transport, parsing, mapping, and downstream systems, identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
  • Translate customer mapping specifications into configuration and code, and validate end-to-end integrations before go-live.
  • Review designs and code from mid-level engineers and establish standards for error handling, idempotency, reprocessing, and observability.
  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor to support development, testing, documentation, and production log analysis.
  • Build reusable AI-enabled internal tools to improve mapping configuration, identify EDI failure patterns, and generate regression test suites.
  • Validate AI-generated output and remain accountable for the correctness and quality of all solutions delivered.
  • Improve CI/CD, automated testing, release processes, monitoring, and overall development workflows.
  • Mentor engineers in EDI domain knowledge and contribute to internal technical training programs.
  • Share effective AI prompts, development patterns, guardrails, and technical knowledge to improve team productivity and standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Backend, DevOps, Platform teams, and customers throughout the integration and go-live process.


Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of backend or integration engineering experience, including at least 6 years of hands-on EDI experience.
  • Deep working knowledge of at least one major EDI standard, such as EDIFACT or ANSI X12, with the ability to interpret and troubleshoot raw EDI messages.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#, along with strong SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with integration and transport technologies including AS2, SFTP, REST APIs, and message queues.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI tools to improve engineering workflows and productivity, with the ability to assess and verify AI-generated output.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills, with a focus on permanent fixes and clear technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge-sharing and mentoring skills, with a willingness to share technical expertise, AI practices, and EDI domain knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business functions and work directly with customers through to go-live.
  • Experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, or supply chain environments is preferred.
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Ansible, and AWS-based architectures is an advantage.
