The EFL Global team was invited to participate in the Brandix Sustainability Summit on June 4th, in celebration of World Environment Day. The summit’s theme was, “Towards a Net Zero Future – Translating Targets to Action,” and provided a platform for key stakeholders to explore the business cases for accelerating action in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The summit brought together the private sector, academics, and key sustainability stakeholders to highlight the urgency of global climate action and the need to accelerate toward a net zero future. It also presented case studies, shared perspectives on what a net zero future holds for Sri Lanka and beyond, and discussions on how industries can move more quickly toward a sustainable future.
The 90-minute discussion focused on two key sections: establishing why organizations must move toward net zero, and how targets can be translated to action. As companies operating in industries that significantly contribute to environmental pollution, EFL Global and Brandix presented case studies covering their ongoing sustainability journeys toward net zero carbon operations and outlined challenges. They also discussed the invaluable benefits of a net zero carbon future. Sabrina Yusoof, Global Lead – Sustainability of EFL Global, passionately advocated the need for businesses to embrace sustainability as an integral part of operations and spoke of identifying the value propositions EFL Global offers. She noted that they, “thrive in customizing solutions for clients, because our stakeholders are a key part of our net zero journey.”
